Fantastic COBOL Facts
During her lectures, “amazing” Grace Hopper used 1 foot long pieces of wire to illuatrate how far an electron travels in 1 nanosecond and said that 1 coil of 1,000 feet represents the distance an electron travels in 1 microsecond. These examples were used to explain that computer component size is related to speed.
COBOL is an anagram for BCOOL!
